The Sisters Country Fair and Art Show will offer fun for everyone on Saturday, August 14.
The fair, held at Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, is in its ninth year. Festivities start at 10 a.m. and run till 4 p.m.
Local vocalist Mark Kershner will headline the live entertainment, singing classic favorites. Thad and Paul Stark are also among the entertainers.
Children's activities such as a cake walk, bouncy castle, animal rides, games and face painting will be waiting for the younger set.
A drawing for a large slate of raffle items will be in the afternoon prior to closing. The winners of a handmade split-bamboo fly rod, custom golf club, a golf and dinner package at Black Butte Ranch or an antique quilt will be notified by phone. Winners need not be present.
Art work in many categories will be juried by noted artists Norma Holmes and Karen Piedmont and displayed for the Friday evening pre-sale. The pre-sale is open to everyone and will be in the Community Hall from 5 to 8 p.m. In conjunction with the Art Show, invitational crafts will be exhibited and offered for sale on the patio outside of the Community Hall.
Marionberry cobbler and ice cream, off-the-grill lunch items, popcorn and cool beverages will be available for lunches and snacks. Additional food items such as fresh produce in the Country Store and prepared gourmet garnishes will also be available.
Shoppers will find a variety of collectibles, including some lovely linens, in Grandma's Treasures. Several antique furniture pieces will also be offered. Anyone looking for bargains will want to check out the White Elephant Table.
In addition to providing fun for families, the fair raises funds to help support those in need in the Sisters community. Organizations helped through Country Fair proceeds this past year have included: Sisters Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, Hospice of Redmond-Sisters, Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank, Headstart, Together for Children, Bethlehem Inn, FAN, SOAR, COBRA and SMART.
The church is located 1/8 mile west of Sisters on the McKenzie Highway. Admission and parking are free.
