Sisters sheriff's calls

  • A lost hunter started a blaze in the middle of Sizemore Road. Cloverdale fire units responded and doused the blaze. No word on what they did with the hunter.

  • Deputies calmed an argument at a local motel over a person allegedly driving on the grass.
  • A deputy responded to a report that "a vehicle left Ray's Food Place intoxicated." No word on the condition of the driver.
  • A citizen turned in an injured dog found in the Holmes Road area.
  • Deputies busted a 37-year-old man for drunk driving.

Black Butte Ranch Police

  • Police responded to a medical assistance call earlier this month that turned out to involve a fatality.

    According to Police Chief Gil Zacarro, a 50-year-old woman visiting the Ranch from out of state fell from her bicycle for unknown reasons.

    The cause of her death remains undetermined to Zacarro's knowledge.

  • Police investigated a reported burglary.
  • Officers assisted BBR fire personnel with a brush fire that was quickly doused.
  • A citizen let police know he was going to paraglide off Black Butte to land on the Ranch soccer field.
  • An officer contacted a man who was apparently sleeping in his car on the roadway to tell him to move.

    The man turned out to be drunk, so a sheriff's deputy came and moved him.
