Chamber hosts holiday events this weekend

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off the holiday season on Friday, November 26, at 5 p.m., with the lighting of the community tree at Barclay Park.

The ceremony will feature Christmas caroling by the Sisters Episcopal Church Choir, directed by Si Simonson. Ed Beacham, Pastor at Chapel in the Pines at Camp Sherman and owner of Beacham's Clock Company, will be part of the ceremony.

This year's tree was donated by Sisters residents Cathy and Harv Moen. The tree was cut down and delivered by Dude Aylor and his crew from Sisters Tree. Rod Morris of Sisters Rental will provide the equipment for Gary Frazee and his crew to put on the lights for the tree.

The annual Christmas Parade will begin at 2 p.m. on Hood Avenue on Saturday, November 27. Cliff Clemens will be a featured participant.

Joining Clemens will be Rick Dancer from KEZI out of Eugene. Jackie Herring will bring in Santa and Mrs. Claus. Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children at the Chamber Visitors' Center on at 164 N. Elm St. There will also be a cozy bonfire and free refreshments.

Both events are sponsored by the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.
