Boyd installed as city councilor

His first official act was to abstain from voting on the McDonald's issue because he had not been involved in prior meetings and hearings on the issue.

The new and re-elected council members, Boyd, Judy Trego, and Dave Elliott were sworn in by City Attorney Steve Bryant.

Boyd unseated Councilor John Rahm in an election that saw a tie between Boyd and Elliott.

A coin-flip gave Boyd a four-year term, Elliott two years. Judy Trego, the top vote-getter, will serve four years.

At the January 13 meeting, Elliott and Trego were re-elected by the council to the offices of Mayor and Council President, respectively.

Rahm has accepted a position on the Sisters Planning Commission.
