The Outlaws lost 76-64 to the Cascade Cougars in the Number 2 seed Capital Conference basketball tiebreaker on Tuesday, February 22. The game was played at neutral Sweet Home.
The Outlaws gave up 20 offensive rebounds in the contest.
“We were just horrid on the offensive boards,” said Coach Rand Runco.
“They killed us on the glass.”
Cascade hit four three’s in the first quarter alone and by the end of the period held a 27-19 lead.
The Cougars never looked back and went on to win by 12 points.
Cascade’s Sibernagel led the Cougars with 27 points.
Jordan Weber had a game high 21 points for the Outlaws and both Guy Mount and Jeff Fitter added 11 points each.
The loss placed Sisters as the Number 3 seed in the Capital Conference. The Outlaws played host to Number 4 seed North Marion on Saturday, February 26.
The Outlaws lost their bid to the State Playoffs to North Marion on Saturday by five points in a final score of 62-56.
“It was a very good game — but a toughie,” Runco said. “Our pressure didn’t hurt them this time like it has in the past.”
At the half, the Outlaws trailed the Huskies 33-27. With four minutes to go in the game, Sisters tied it back up. North Marion came back and hit two deep three-pointers to extend their lead.
The Outlaws pulled to within two with 10 seconds remaining in the game and immediately had to foul. North Marion hit their shots at the line to win by five at 62-56.
Jeff Fitter led the Outlaws with 17 points.
