Sisters scouts compete in derby

Zach Jones of Sisters powered his pinewood derby car to a 10th-place overall finish in The Fremont District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby at the Bend River Mall on Saturday, February 26.

The 70 racers over the 30-second downhill course were often separated by only hundredths and even thousandths of a second.

Jones, of Sisters Cub Scout Pack 139, emerged as first-place winner among the 21 Wolf Cubs on his way to his 10th-place overall finish. Other participants from Sisters Pack 139 were Garret Trahern, Austin Boatright and Ross Grant.
