Bigby named Outlaws baseball coach

Kevin Bigby has been named the Outlaws’ new baseball coach.

Bigby originally hails from Klamath Falls, which has always had a strong tradition in baseball. He attended Mazama High School and was a three-sport athlete, lettering in football, basketball and baseball.

He furthered his education and athletic endeavors while attending the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) and Southern Oregon University (SOU).

Bigby played baseball at both OIT and SOU and while at SOU earned second team all-league honors.

After he earned his degree he managed the Klamath Falls Hawks, an American Legion summer league team for boys 15-18 years of age.

Bigby also was the head baseball coach at Butte Valley High School which is just over the border from Klamath Falls in California.

Bigby moved to Oregon and continued his coaching career. He coached the boys freshman baseball team in Crook County for one year and then was assistant varsity coach for another year.

Certified in physical education and always keeping an eye out for coachingopportunities Kevin heard about the opening at Sisters, decided to apply and was happy to hear he’d gotten the job.
