News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Many Sisters area residents want to increase their income and assets by growing their idea, hobby or existing business into a viable enterprise.
A Central Oregon microenterprise program sponsored by local Community Action Teams offers 36 hours of business training with classes, one-on-one business advising, ongoing mentoring and business peer groupsupport.
The program begins with a free orientation in Sisters, March 29, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Sisters Middle School, Room 142.
At the free orientation, participants will learn about their potential as an entrepreneur and program eligibility and requirements.
Graduates from the current program serving Bend, Redmond and Sisters include a basket maker, soap manufacturer, salsa producer, credit counselor, a bed and breakfast owner and others who have successfully completed the three-month intensive training and individual advising.
