News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Five players from the Sisters High School boys basketball team earned Capital Conference All-League honors this year.
Senior Jordan Weber earned top honors and was selected first team All- League. Guy Mount was selected second team All-League and both Ford Bauer and Carter Davenport were named third team All-League. Jeff Fitter was honorable mention.
Weber was a consistent leader for the Outlaw team and according to Coach Rand Runco was one of the team’s few players who could create his own shots.
“Jordan was a threat from multiple ranges,” said Runco, “and the other coaches recognized that.”
Junior Guy Mount earned second team honors.
“Guy was very dedicated in the off season,” said Runco. “He was a deadly shooter for us and we sorely missed him when he was sick at the end of the season.”
Senior Ford Bauer and junior Carter Davenport were named third team All-League.
“Ford was selected for his leadership and emotion and was the heartbeat of our team,” said Runco. “Carter was selected for his defensive ability. He’s one of the best defensive players in the league and an all-around good player.”
Jeff Fitter played at the point guard position for the first time at the varsity level and earned honorablemention.
“Jeff really improved throughout the season,” said Runco.
“He was selected because of his unselfish play and ability to be a true point guard. Jeff was more concerned with assists than scoring on his own.”
Nathan Jackson was named Capital Conference Freshman of the Year.
