Girls golf team returns experienced members

Sisters High School returns some experienced players to the girls golf team this season.

The squad will be made up entirely of seniors: Kayla Miller, Krystal Fitter, MacKinzie McClain, Brittany Reed, Kelsey Gillespie and Stephanie Pledger.

Eleven-year veteran coach Mary Flande said, “One of our biggest strengths for the year will be our returning experience to the team. I believe another strength of this group is the ability to play relaxed and to have fun. These kids have known each other for a long time and really enjoy playing as a team. They are very encouraging and supportive of each other.”

Flande told The Nugget that her team’s first goal of the season will be to have fun and work on their game.

“If our kids work hard, have a good work ethic at practice and have fun along the way the success will take care of itself,” said Flande.

The Lady Outlaw golfers hope to finish in the top two at the District meet and make an appearance at State.

Flande said, “I’m looking forward to the season. We have so many great kids that are so much fun to be around. They have a positive attitude and are willing to put in the time to be a good team. The team gets along well and has shown the dedication it takes to be a good team.”

The first match of the season will be on March 17.
