Sisters Community Choir to perform

The Sisters Community Choir will perform its spring concert on Saturday, April 23 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. Both performances will be held at Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration on Brooks Camp Road in Sisters.

This spring’s concert includes “The Creation,” a “rock cantata” for choir, soloists and a rock band ensemble of piano, percussion instruments and guitar.

Also included are American folk hymns and African-American spirituals adapted and arranged by Aaron Copland, Jester Hairston, Alice Parker and Robert Shaw.

In addition to these selections for the entire chorus, choir members will present a variety of solos and small ensemble pieces. Pianist Jane Moore accompanies the chorus.

There is no admittance charge for the performance; donations are gratefully accepted.
