Sisters High School’s tennis team stretched its winning streak to 2-0 when it beat North Marion 6-1 on Tuesday, April 5.
The doubles teams swept their matches. The No. 1 duo of Elyss Clasen and Claire Rerat started with a 6-4 loss to Ashley Haynes and Lyndi Peterson in their first set. Clasen and Rerat came from behind in the second set to win 7-5. They won the third and final set 6-4.
Number-two doubles, Jaci Estep and Heather Schaab, won their match 6-0, 6-2. Jill Zepeda and Amanda Sarles (No. 3 doubles) won 6-3,6-2 and No. 4 doubles Maren Burck and Kelly Morton won 6-2, 6-2.
In the No. 1 singles spot, Marigrace Marshall shut out Karen Ovalle 6-0, 6-0. Brianna Wellman (No. 2) won her match 6-1, 6-0 and No. 3 Elizabeth Dale won 6-1, 6-2.
“We weren’t looking forward to playing in the rain, but the weather held off and it was another great win,” Brianna Wellman said. “I just hope our team continues to improve and earns the No. 1 finish in the CapitalConference.”
Sisters will play at Molalla on Tuesday, April 19 and at home against North Marion on April 21.
