Central Oregon Shootout adds a course

The Central Oregon Shootout will add another golf facility to the rotation for this year’s event held on April 29, 30, and May 1.

Eagle Crest Resort will join Aspen Lakes and Black Butte Ranch as one of the host courses for this third annual golf tournament.

“We had such a long waiting list for last year’s shootout that it was time to expand the field by adding another top-quality golf course into the mix”, said Aspen Lakes Head Golf Professional, Wayne Clark.

The popularity of this event lies in the format of two-person teams playing three different formats on three different golf courses. Day 1 is a scramble, Day 2 is “better ball” and the final round is “chapman.”

“The format is fun, the golf courses are great, and combined with the fact we never have to play winter rules in Central Oregon,” said Clark. “It is the perfect way to start the golf season by encouraging golfers to travel to the dry side of the state.”

There is a gross division and three divisions for net players. Participants using handicaps must be within six strokes of partners.

“We should end up with nearly 200 competitors this year with most staying in Sisters for the weekend,” said Clark. “Everyone always has a good time.”
