Sisters pounded out a season high 13 hits in a victory over the North Marion Huskies on Thursday, April 21.
Scoring for the Outlaws started in the second inning.
Camille Pederson led off with a double and Sammy Stoneback singled to move Pederson to third. Courtney Overstreet reached first base on an error and then Katie Hughes hit an RBI single up the middle. Crystal Jewell got on base with a fielder’s choice to knock in another run.
Becky Bremer hit in the last run of the inning on a fielder’s choice. By the end of the inning the Outlaws held a 4-0 lead.
In the top of the third the Huskies were able to bring four runners across the plate to tie the game at 4-4.
Sisters responded with three more runs. The big hit of the inning was Kym John’s three-RBI single.
The Outlaws pulled ahead 7-4 and maintained the lead the remainder of the game.
Sisters tacked on their final run in the bottom of the sixth.
Cindy Harp led off with a single and Pederson pushed her to third with a single. Harp scored on a sacrifice fly from Stoneback.
Stoneback pitched the entire game and recorded eight strike-outs. Sammy gave up five hits and only two earned runs.
Eight of Sisters’ nine starters had hits in the game. Multiple hits came from several players.
Hughes was 3-4, Pederson 2-4 with a double and Harp was 2-3. Cortney Peters was 2-3 with a double.
“It was a good team victory,” said Coach Doug McDonald with a smile that stretched from ear to ear.
The Lady Outlaws lost 5-0 two days earlier at Molalla. Camille Pederson had two singles in the game.
