News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Last Saturday evening’s fund-raiser for Black Butte School (BBS) filled the Camp Sherman Community Hall to capacity. Parents, grandparents, and friends feasted on spaghetti with veggie or meat sauce, salad, bread, assorted veggie platter and beverage.
Rochelle and Doug Curtis were ably assisted by other BBS parents in preparing and serving dinner for the large group through two service lines.
Ice cream cones were available after dinner as a dessert treat.
Bingo cards were distributed after dinner and a long list of prizes were awarded to lucky winners. This year’s dozens of local businesses that donated prizes and food were highlighted by name with a large banner on the hall’s side wall.
Roger White did an outstanding job as bingo caller for the evening and also as auctioneer of the various cakes, brownies and chocolate goodies purchased by the large audience. Joe Cross ably assisted him with the evening’s games.
The monies raised during the evening help in paying for various activities at BBS including field trips and other school activities.
