Songwriters showcase talents in Sisters

Local songwriters will showcase their original songs “in the round” during a performance at GFP Enterprises conference hall in Sisters on Saturday, June 4.

The concert will feature Sisters Folk Festival Songwriting Contest winner Dennis McGregor, two-time contest finalists Brad Tisdel and Katie Cavanaugh, Brent Alan, Anastasia Scott, Joe Leonardi and Jim Cornelius.

Proceeds from the requested $10 donation made at the door will benefit the Sisters Folk Festival.

“There’s a lot of songwriting talent in this community,” said folk festival board member Jim Cornelius. “This is an opportunity for local audiences to hear home-made music in a good listening venue where the focus is really on the songs.”

According to Cornelius, “the songwriters will pass the torch around the circle and accompany each other on their songs. It’s great to bring a diverse group of songwriters together like this and I think the audience willreally hear something special.”

The performance starts at 7 p.m. GFP Enterprises is located at 307 W. Sisters Park Dr. in the Sisters Industrial Park. To get there, drive into Sisters, turn north on Pine Street into the industrial park, then east on Sisters Park Drive.
