News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce recently hired Ron Roach, a long-time Sisters resident, to man the Visitor Center on the weekends throughout the summer months.
The Visitor Center will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The schedule is subject to change depending on demand.
The weekend schedule began Memorial Day weekend and will conclude after Sisters in Sisters in early October.
It is critical for the Visitor Center to be open during peak times to adequately serve visitors to Sisters, according to Chamber executive Director Cheryl Rhea.
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center serves approximately 8,000 walk-in visitors per year and receives 15,000 email inquiries and 6,300 phone calls requesting information annually.
Roach has worked for the chamber before and is excited to get back to helping guests with requests for information, Rhea said.
The Sisters Chamber marketing committee is also reviewing ways to provide information during hours the Visitor Center is not open.
They include a satellite kiosk that will have brochures and area maps, as well as brochure racks at the visitor center that will be accessible after hours.
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce serves the business community of Sisters and the surrounding area.
