News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters area Girl Scouts crossed a bridge both literally and figuratively last week.
The children participated in a “bridging” ceremony at Creekside City Park. Scouts met at the center of the city bridge over Squaw Creek, exchanged words and signs, then walked across.
The ceremony marks a symbolic passage from Daisies to Brownies and from Brownies to Girl Scouts. The scouts received new vests to mark their status and a variety of pins.
Evelyn Brush is the local scout leader and she conducted the ceremony.
