News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The popular Black Butte Players will start their third season with four short plays on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, July 26th and 27th, at Black Butte Ranch.
The evening starts on the Lodge outside deck with a no-host bar at 6 p.m. followed by Chef David Berger’s buffet dinner at 6:30, and plays beginning at 7:15 each evening. This is a wonderful summer venue under twilight skies with mountain views, and Lake Phalarope’s backdrop.
Sybil Rosen’s “Duet for Bear and Dog” directed by Pat Kmiec, features Barbara Dixon, Luann Gibbs, Jim Kindorf, Meredith McKittrick, and Monroe Weinberg.
“Honored Guest,” by Meredith McKittrick and David Talbot, features Rod Dahl, Craig Dennis, Lynn Talbot, and Rosalie Van Ness.
Mimi Miller and Lynda Sullivan are featured in “Off the Rack,” a short play written by Robert Kemnitz and Jennifer McMaster.
The final play features Pat Kmiec and Lynn Talbot in “No Dogs Allowed.”
Once again, Roger Gabrielson will MC the shows featuring local thespians from Central Oregon. Roger is also sound man, production assistant, and will gladly take any extra desserts.
David Talbot is former Director of State Parks in Oregon while his wife Lynn has been acting in and directing stage presentations for over 25 years.
Persons interested in joining the Black Butte Players should contact David Talbot at 595-6946.
Call 595-1260 for reservations for either Tuesday or Wednesday evening’s performances. The cost for the dinner and show is $22.
