Reading for kids at the Sisters Library

This week, Preschool Parade and Baby Steps Storytime programs’ theme will be “Follow the Farm Animals!”

Baby Steps, a storytime for children up to 18 months, takes place on Thursday, July 21 at 10:15 a.m. Preschool Parade, for children ages 2 through 5 years, featuring stories, songs and rhymes, will follow at 11 a.m.

Parents or caregivers attending are encouraged to participate in all the activities.

On Thursday, July 21, there will be no Weekly Quest program. Instead, come see “The Art of Falconry” at 2 p.m. as the High Desert Museum Presents: Orion and the Art of Falconry.

During the Middle Ages only the highest of royalty were allowed to carry the majestic golden eagle upon their arm. This is a chance to see that magnificent bird up close, and learn about the rules of falconry.

High Desert Museum staff will explain it all, accompanied by Orion, their golden eagle. A craft will follow the presentation.

This special program was funded by the Ready to Read Grant, established by the Oregon Legislature.
