Country Fair and Art Show coming soon

The grounds of Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration will be transformed into an old fashioned Country Fair for a day on Saturday, August 13.

Face painting is one of the many activities for children at the 10th Annual Country Fair and Art Show. The Bouncy Castle, pony rides, petting zoo, cake walk and a variety of children’s activities and games will delight the young and the young at heart.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church located 1/8 mile west of Sisters on the McKenzie Highway.

The fair features the Country Store with fresh produce and baked goods. Gourmet Garnishes will have apple butter, marionberry jam, three-pepper jelly and mango chutney, while at the Sweet Tooth Booth one can indulge in marionberry cobbler or root beer floats.

A very popular booth is Grandma’s Treasures. A raffle features an antique quilt along with two rounds of golf at Black Butte Ranch, a split bamboo fly rod and a sweater from Common Threads of Sisters.

There will be live music and entertainment.

The Art Show, juried by Dan and Julia Rickards of Clearwater Gallery in Sisters, will be held in the Community Hall featuring original art work from 50 regional artists ranging from paintings, ceramics, metal, photography, glass, wood as well as other media. Several jewelry artists will be featuring their work. A gala pre-sale party will be on Friday evening August 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. with refreshments served.

The public is invited.

All proceeds from the Fair and Art Show are donated to the church’s outreach ministries.
