Gerald Richard Clark

Gerald Richard (Jerry Dick) Clark of Terrebonne died on July 29. He was 69. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on August 3 at Highland Baptist Church in Redmond.

He was born to Hugh Ray and Minnie Fay (Dickensen) Clark in Weston, Oregon, on June 8, 1936.

He graduated from Pendleton High School and attended Mira Costa College and San Diego State University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1971 where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was also a Boy Scout leader, juvenile counselor, Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy, a volunteer firefighter/EMT and a security officer. He retired July 13, 1994.

He was affiliated with the Marine Corps Association; 1st Marine Division Association; Oregon columbia River Chapter, DAV, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, community service and computers.

He married Wanda Marilyn Forrester on October 26, 1955, in Walla Walla, Washington. She survives him, along with sons Danny Clark of Terrebonne and Ryan Clark of Bend; daughters Clarissa Petrie of Bend, Terri Brown of Sisters; Toni Brennan of Bend; brothers Roscoe Clark of Bullhead City, Arizona; Donald Clark of Vale, Oregon; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Baptist Church or to the Vietnam Tanker Buddy Fund.
