Sisters artist offers demonstration at gallery

Sisters resident and stained glass artist Ed Protas will be at Barclay Gallery this Saturday, August 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to demonstrate the design and assembly process involved in making stained glass windows and clocks.

Ed Protas began creating stained glass in 2003 and opened his studio as a full- time business at the end of 2004. His works include traditional and modern designs, with an emphasis on taking stained glass in some non-traditional directions. Current projects include combining twisted Western juniper limbs with stained glass.

He specializes in the creation of stained glass windows, hangings, and cabinet door inserts.

Several pieces are on display in The Barclay Gallery, Sisters Mercantile and several other locations throughout Sisters. Any piece can be custom-made in any size using different colors and textures of glass.

Visit The Barclay Gallery at 170 W Cascade Ave, Ste. 3 (in the courtyard of the Barclay Square building) or call The Barclay Gallery for more information at 549-1050.
