• Officers responded to a reported domestic assault near Sisters.
• A man contacted the sheriff’s office to ask what to do with a dead fawn he found in his yard. He was advised to have the homeowners’ association maintenance personnel dispose of it.
• A girl reported as a runaway returned home — intoxicated.
• Someone stole a bicycle from in front of the Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store.
• Deputies stopped a driver and impounded the vehicle because the driver was on a suspended license and had an open container of alcohol.
• A resident reported the theft of some gas from his vehicle.
• A man requested that a deputy contact him at his campsite in Sisters. He’s concerned that his wife may be up to some kind of legal action to keep him from his kids. He spotted a friend of hers in Sisters. He did not fear for his safety, but he said he was losing sleep over the matter.
• A man was intoxicated and threatening during a visit to a friend’s home. He’d left before deputies arrived, but they contacted him at home and he agreed that he should go to bed.
• A woman reported that her vehicle was broken into and her purse stolen.
• A deputy issued a pair of citations for MIP to two 15-year-old girls.
• A dog got so tangled up on a lead attached to a pole that a citizen had to cut the dog’s collar off so it could breathe. A deputy contacted the dog’s owner and advised on alternative ways to keep the dog secured.
• A man reported that the map light was on in his truck ... and he never uses it. He also couldn’t find his Glock 19 9 mm pistol, but he wasn’t quite sure where he kept it last, in his home or in his vehicle.
• Someone backed into the diesel fuel tanks at a Sisters gas station, then took off, leaving behind $2,000 in damage.
• A deputy issued a written warning to a driver for keeping his dog locked up in the car on a hot day.
• A 19-year-old driver was cited and his vehicle impounded for careless driving and driving while uninsured after a single-vehicle accident.
Black Butte Ranch Police
• An officer assisted Jefferson County and Oregon State Police with an unruly subject at Link Campground.
The man was intoxicated and looking for a fight. Someone had obliged him with a conk on the head with a flashlight. The BBR officer found marijuana and a pipe on the man. He was transported to the hospital for his injuries ... and a state trooper tagged along.
• An officer was notified about a large, noisy group. They were having a reunion and were easy to pick out on account of all of them wearing red shirts.
The officer informed them of the noise complaint and issued badges to the children and gave them a tour of a police car (but didn’t fire up the siren).
• Officers assisted medics with juveniles involved in bike crashes.
• An officer found numerous beer cans littering the hot tub area at the Ranch, but missed catching the culprits.
