Boys soccer looking for players

There will be a 7th and 8th grade Sisters boys soccer team this fall.

There was some confusion in the community earlier this summer over prices and deadlines, and only one boy initially signed up by June 20. Interest was assumed to be low.

“Many of the parents of soccer players obviously didn’t read the SOAR guide closely, including me,” said parent Mike Gould. In early August, they discovered the problem and pleaded with Rick Ekman at Bend Parks & Rec to let Sisters put a team together.

“After a couple weeks of consideration, he called and suggested it would be okay to put a team together. The soccer is 11 v 11 and I have scrambled to gather 12 boys,” said Gould.

Additional players who may not have read the SOAR guide are being sought. Any 7th or 8th grade boys interested in playing soccer should call Mike Gould at 388-0902.
