School library gets a fresh look from manager

A school employee has just painted the inside of the Sisters High School library, on her own time.

Jade Schneringer, Media Manager at the high school, said the idea came from Principal Bob Macauley.

“Bob asked me what I wanted to create. That gave me permission” to make the library more inviting, Schneringer said.

The walls on the east and north are a rich burgundy. There are couches and reading lamps, giving the space warmth.

“I wanted it to be welcoming and inspiring. I just remembered how I felt when I wanted to come in and read,” Schneringer explained.

Her volunteer project took about four weeks. She used 21 gallons of paint.
