SOAR (Sisters Organization for Activities and Recreation) will host a community meeting to discuss the new skate park being planned in Sisters. The meeting will be held Monday, September 19, 7 p.m., at the SOAR Community Center.
Anyone who is interested in helping with the project is encouraged to attend. This is the second in a series of meetings to begin the planning and design of the skate park.
Brian Moore, national sales manger for Spohn Ranch, will be at the meeting to share his knowledge and experience with building skate parks across the country. Spohn Ranch has been building custom skate parks since 1992. Brian has over 20 years of experience as a skater and in the skate park design and construction business.
Brian will facilitate a discussion about:
• The kinds of elements found in today’s skate parks.
• How to design a park for all age groups and abilities.
• Fund-raising ideas from around the country.
• Design ideas.
The Sisters Skate Park Committee is in the process of researching other skate parks and gathering input and ideas about the design for the Sisters park. Everyone is invited to the meeting.
