Sisters business at a glance

• COCC’s Continuing Education department is offering an “Accounting Basics” class in Sisters for small business owners from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings starting October 27 and ending November 17. The introductory course will be held at Sisters Middle School and will emphasize the importance of understanding the basics of accounting in order to oversee business finances successfully.

Cost is $49. Pre-registration is required. Call 383-7270.

• The Sisters City Council approved a liquor license for the forthcoming Jen’s Garden, a fine dining establishment moving into the small former home next to Lutton’s on Hood Avenue.

• Three Sisters Floral is now offering trout prints by Lloyd Merrell.

• John Simpkins is creating artful edibles at Sisters Bakery. This week’s featured item is a French Tart with Pate Brisse crust.

• Thomas Rheuben Dentistry is offering half-price teeth whitening to current patients and will donate your money to the Kemple Children’s Clinic this October.

The Kemple Children’s Clinic helps to take care of children in Deschutes County who cannot afford dental care.

• Tea & Treasures has new tearoom hours: Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
