The Americana Studies Center will host a November 2005 Concert Series at the new Sisters Art Works Building at 204 W. Adams Ave. in Sisters.

The series kicks off on Thursday, November 3, with a performance by singer-songwriter Brian Joseph. On November 8 the center will host a “master class” taught by the California Guitar Trio.

Brian Joseph, the 2003 winner of the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest New Folks Showcase and the prestigious 2004 Telluride Troubadour Contest, is hailed as an “award-winning, lovable modern troubadour with a theatrical flair.”

After his release of “King of Echo Park,” Joseph continues to get accolades for his songwriting and engaging performance throughout the country.

The November 8 guitar master class workshop featuring The California Guitar Trio, is brought to Central Oregon through the support of Breedlove Guitar Company.

After completing several of these intensive courses, the three toured worldwide with Fripp’s League of Crafty Guitarists.Wanting to continue working together after the League had run its course, Bert, Paul and Hideyo convened in Los Angeles and founded The California Guitar Trio in 1991.

Cosy Sheridan, an award-winning singer-songwriter with special guest TR Ritchie will perform on November 15. Opening act will be Sisters artist Katie Cavanaugh.

Tickets for all three shows are $10 each and available at Paulina Springs Books, Angeline’s Bakery and Café and Sisters Feed & Supply in Sisters. Student tickets for Brian Joseph and the California Guitar Trio are $5.
