• A man reported that a dog had chased his wife while she was jogging. One way to pick up the pace.
• Deputies cited a 16-year-old driver for failing to obey a traffic control device after a non-injury accident.
• A deputy had to inform a Sisters woman that her son had committed suicide in Bend.
• A woman called to claim theft of a horse. She alleged that the horse had been given to her two years ago and then the giver took it back. In the absence of paperwork on the transaction, the woman was advised that it was a civil matter.
• There was a burglary at the Hinkle Butte Lookout.
• Both parties lost in a deer vs. Jeep confrontation on Highway 20 east of town. The deer was DOA and the Jeep was badly wounded.
• A hiker returned to the Park Meadow Trailhead to find her windshield destroyed and a large rock at hand.
Black Butte Ranch Police
• An officer assisted with an injury wreck on the highway.
• An officer discovered a Ranch employee parked in a camper van in a Ranch parking lot. The man said he had had a couple of drinks after work and had taken a hot tub.
The officer told him he would cite him for DUII if he drove. It’s not okay to sleep in a vehicle on the Ranch, but the officer preferred that the man stay put.
