News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The girls volleyball team continued its winning streak with three game sweeps against both North Marion (NM) and Molalla.
Sisters defeated the North Marion Huskies on Tuesday, October 18, with scores of 25-28, 25-10 and 25-15.
Heather Schaab led the Outlaw offense with nine kills. Shalayna Peters contributed seven kills and four aces.
The big highlight of the night was the start of the second game. Courtney Overstreet started in the serving position and served 14 balls in a row to give Sisters a 14-0 lead. Overstreet had four aces in the run.
“Courtney did a good job of serving to specific designated areas,” said Coach Chris Crosby.
The Outlaws held an 11-1 lead in the first game, a 14-0 lead in the second and a 7-1 lead in the third and maintained their lead in every game.
Crosby said, “The girls put out a good effort. We beat them (NM) in four games at their place and then in three here at home. We did a better job tonight.”
In the match against Molalla two days later, the Outlaws came out on top, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21.
Schaab led the offense with 11 kills.
Crosby said, “It wasn’t a very well-played game by either team.”
Next week the Lady Outlaws will face their two biggest rivals in the league. On Tuesday, October 25, the Outlaws were to host the Stayton Eagles. The Eagles are the only team in the league who have defeated Sisters this season. On Thursday, Sisters will wrap up conference play at Cascade.
Sisters is currently 7-1 in league play.
