Lady Outlaws soccer players earn honors

Eight Sisters girls earned all-league honors in soccer this season.

Liz Dale (center midfield) was voted the Capital Conference MVP and was also a first-team all-league selection.

“Liz’s dribbling and mobility at center midfield helped in assisting on many goals throughout the season,” said Coach Lee Bellahdid. “All the coaches agreed she was the most valuable player for those reasons.”

Annie Hancock (stopper) and Katy Taylor (forward) were also first-team selections.

Bellahdid said, “Annie is a good ball distributor and has the ability to win the ball in the air. Katy has great powerful and accurate shots and scored lots of goals this year for our team.”

Both Lily Hicks (left defender) and Rose Slavkovsky (forward) were second-team selections.

“Lily’s physical abilities are very good,” said Bellahdid. “She’s very strong and had the ability to shut down other strong players in the league. Rose has a determination on the field and pressures the defense and I think that got the attention of the other coaches.”

Three players got honorable mention: Natice Nield (sweeper), Kelly Morton (forward) and Nicole Veloso (right defender).

“All three of these girls are very fast players even though they play at different positions,” said Bellahdid.

“This year they all stepped up very hard and their efforts made a difference in our play during the games.”

Coach Lee Bellahdid was once again voted Coach of the Year.
