The Sisters Garden Club’s largest-ever donation — $4,400 — was given this month to Sisters Rotary Club to pay for plantings at the entry park at the west end of Sisters.
“It’s the largest donation we’ve made to one project,” said current club president Mary Crow.
“We felt so strongly that Sisters needed a beautiful entryway that we wanted to do this project.”
The trees and shrubs were planted by SisterScapes, who landscaped the park.
The centerpiece of the park is Sisters Rotary’s carved stone “Welcome to Sisters” sign.
The donation was one of two made this year. The club also donated $700 to the Sisters Library for planters at the new library.
The volunters of the Sisters Garden Club plant and maintain gardens at the East Portal of Sisters and on the grounds of the Sisters Library.
