News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Bend Theatre for Young People (BTYP) will present the Second Annual Holiday Play Production in Sisters on Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17.
“The Jingle Bell Jury,” by Jay Moriarty, is directed by BTYP Artistic Director Gary Bowne. Assisting Bowne is Kristina Coulter, staff member of Sisters Community Church and local leader of Young Life youth ministry.
The comedy will be performed by a combined cast of elementary school students and middle schoolers from the Sisters-Redmond area.
Something’s amiss in the small town of Candy Cane. Young Jim Dandy is caught in disgraceful behavior. Showing blatant contempt for the Christmas Spirit, he yelled “Christmas Spirit is nonsense and anyone who believes in it is a fool!”
This is a serious crime so Jim is arrested and hauled off to Candy Cane Court. The local prosecutor brings him before Judge Pfefferneusse to answer the charges. Appearing before The Jingle Bell Jury and making the case for the prosecution are some of your favorite characters from classic Christmas literature.
Showtime is 1 p.m. both days at Sisters Community Church. All tickets are available at the door: $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. For more information call 419-1395.
