Sisters community choir to present concerts

The Community Choir of Sisters will present its Christmas concert on Saturday, December 17, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 18, at 2 p.m.

Performances are at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, at 121 Brooks Camp Rd.

The program includes a variety of seasonal and sacred choral music, together with piano accompaniment by Jane Moore. Selections include austerely beautiful Renaissance motets sung in Latin, rousing Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and Gospel and other contemporary versions of familiar carols by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw and others.

In addition to the concert by the full chorus, the program features an eclectic variety of seasonal music performed by soloists and small ensembles from the choir.

An informal carol sing-along will follow each concert. Admission is free and donations are gratefully accepted.
