Boysbasketball team beats Burns

The Outlaws defeated Burns 66-34 at home on Thursday, December 22.

The win was a strong team effort, demonstrated by the way the stats were spread across the entire roster. Three players hit double digits for the Outlaws. Guy Mount, Nick Purvis and Nate Jackson each scored 10 points to lead Sisters to the home victory. Chris Ashley and Brian Knotts added eight points each.

Andy Burke, Brian Knotts and James Bristow hit the boards, each bringing down four rebounds.

The Outlaws dominated the game from the start and outscored Burns every quarter. Sisters held Burns to just two points in the third quarter and a total of 14 points in the second half.

Coach Rand Runco said, “We shot the ball well. Our weakness was from the free throw line where we only shot seven for 16. Other than that we played a solid game. It was a great defensive team effort. It’s nice to get some momentum for our upcoming tournament.”

The Outlaws were to open the home holiday tournament against Banks on Tuesday, December 27. Six teams will participate in the tourney: Sisters, Junction City, LaSalle, Sherwood, La Pine and Madras.
