Four new members have been elected to serve on the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Newly elected board members are: Barbara Johnson, Doug Roberts, Mike Robillard and Roger White. They will fill board positions being vacated by Bob Grooney, Donna Kightlinger, Caroline Lucas and Jack McGilvary.
There are a total of 12 directors on the chamber board. Four board members per year are elected to three-year terms. Board members were selected by a vote of the general membership. There were a total of nine candidates for the four open positions.
New board members will take their positions on February 1. They will be officially installed at the Chamber Annual Installation dinner which will take place on Thursday, February 9, at Eagle Crest Resort. The installation dinner is open to both members and non-members of the chamber. The installation dinner will include a farewell to current board members ending their terms at the end of January. Bob Grooney, owner of The Gallimaufry, ends a 27-year stint on the Sisters Area Chamber Board of Directors.
Also ending terms on the chamber board are Donna Kightlinger, President, 2005, Caroline Lucas, Past President, and Jack McGilvary, Treasurer.
Barbara Johnson and her husband Bob and sons, own Fluid Images, Inc., Strada Unlimited, Inc. and Captive Media Solutions. She is a member of Sisters Kiwanis where she has served as Secretary, board member and chairperson of various committees. She is also on the TAPS (Think Again ParentS) board and is active with the Healthy Beginnings program.
Doug Roberts is a licensed Broker with Coldwell Banker Reed Bros. Realty in Sisters. He is a past president of the Sisters Kiwanis; past president of the Yaquina Economic Development Committee; Lincoln County Children’s Advocacy Center recipient of the Kay Shineflug Award; Chairman of the Lincoln County School District Budget Committee and was named Realtor of the Year in 1984.
Mike Robillard and his wife, Tammy, own Robillard Insurance Agency in Sisters and have been in business here for the past six and a half years. He is also part owner of the FivePine Station building.
Robillard was on the budget committee for the City of Sisters for three years and has been a member of Sisters Kiwanis for five years.
Roger White, along with his wife Cathy and two daughters have lived in Camp Sherman for the past 10 years. He owns the Camp Sherman Store and has been a board member of the Metolius Recreation Association for nine years.
He is currently on the Black Butte School Board and is a board member of the Camp Sherman Transfer site. He is an active supporter of the Sisters Starry Nights program and of the My Own Two Hands program.
