News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To the Editor:
I would like to take the time to comment on a few things. I have read the letters, articles in the paper and seen the news. I understand how some of you might be feeling. I have to admit though that I am also very disappointed with how some people are so quick to judge and say such cruel things.
My name is Kenna Hall. Shane Hall was my husband for 10 years. He was and still is my best friend. He is one of the most loving and caring individuals that I have ever known. Yes we have made some mistakes along the way. Who hasn’t? That’s what makes us who we are. We take our mistakes and learn and grow from them and hopefully not repeat them.
I am very proud of Shane for the wonderful father that he is to our two beautiful children, the strength that he has had to get through this past year, the humbleness and honesty that he has shared with me and the congregation. The courage to ask for help through a difficult time. To be able to pour out your fears and deepest feelings, knowing the risk that people would not understand.
He has persevered through his father’s tragic death, his little girl’s life changing hurt that a sick individual caused in her life. The rage, guilt and anger that came with that. The disappointment of a marriage that could not endure the pain.
My best friend and father of my children will persevere through this as well. The truth shall set him free and all of you that have passed such quick judgment hopefully will have learned a life changing lesson from a mistake and will grow and learn from it as well. I pray for strength for Shane, Sue, Cheurice, family and friends. I will stand strong beside them through this unfortunate, horrible and difficult time.
Proverbs 8:20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.
Kenna Hall
