The SOAR Recreation District Board of Directors is looking for district residents to serve on the Board of Directors or on the budget committee.
The SOAR Recreation District is governed by five elected board members. Position #3 on the Board is vacant. John Bushnell was elected to the board in May 2005 and is unable to complete his term due to other civic responsibilities.
The four remaining board members will appoint a citizen to fill the position until the May 2007 elections.
Interested citizens must live inside the SOAR Recreation District boundaries and be registered voters. Candidates are asked to submit a brief letter of interest stating why they would like to serve on the Board. The deadline for submitting letters is March 17.
The SOAR District Board sets policy for the district, oversees the annual budget, develops long range plans and helps to secure funding and resources for the district.
Candidates must be able to attend board meetings on a regular basis, serve on committees, support the mission of the district and represent district residents.
The SOAR Recreation District Board is recruiting district residents to serve on the budget committee. Five citizens serve on the board budget committee to review the annual budget.
Interested citizens must reside inside the SOAR Recreation District boundary and be registered voters. Committee members serve three-year terms.
The budget committee meets in May of each year to review the budget proposal in a series of two or three meetings.
