Sisters business at a glance

• El Caporal Mexican Restaurant will open in the former site of Sisters Video on Hood Avenue at the east end of Sisters. City Planning Director Brian Rankin made the announcement at the Thursday, March 23, Sisters City Council meeting.

• C&C Nursery Sales, LLC has taken over as the new owners of Double F Nursery. The nursery will still feature plants, trees, shrubs and hanging baskets. Call 504-5255 for more information.

• As a thank-you to the Sisters community, Washington Mutual is offering tickets to Ice Age 2 at Sisters Movie House Sunday, April 9, at 12:30 p.m. Call 549-8569 for more information and to order tickets. Space is limited.

• Belladawna announces new nail technician Anita White. Anita has professional experience in a wide variety of nail art and offers manicures, pedicures and acrylics. Call 549-9611 to make an appointment.

• Pine Meadow Village is seeking to build cottages in place of several planned condominums in the planned unit development. Planners say such cottages are relatively new in Central Oregon but are popular elsewhere and are creating interest in the Pacific Northwest.

• Aspen Lakes was ranked seventh in Golfweek’s America’s Best 2006 State by State List of Public Access Courses in the March 11 issue.

The Sisters golf course climbed one place from its eighth-place ranking in last year’s edition.
