My Own Two Hands offers proxy bidding

The My Own Two Hands art auction fund-raiser is offering people who are unable to attend the sold-out auction event on Saturday, April 8, several ways to bid without being present.

Event organizers will have bid sheets available for all pieces at the Art Stroll on Friday, April 7. All bidders will be required to place their name and phone number on the appropriate bid card along with their bid. Organizers note that there will be a possibility to be outbid at the Art Party and Auction on April 8.

Bidders may place a written bid with the auction committee by calling before April 7 and identifying which piece they would like to bid on and the maximum bid amount. Organizers will assign a bidder number and the bid will be entered on the bid sheet by 5 p.m. on April 8. Again, outbidding is possible.

For live auction items, bidders can give the auction committee a maximum bid amount and organizers will assign a proxy bidder who will strive to purchase the artwork at the lowest price during the live auction, not to exceed the maximum identified.

Bidders may give the committee a telephone number for a call between 7 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. Organizers will contact bidder buy phone and act as their bidder during the live auction.

My Own Two Hands is a fund-raiser in support of art and music programs in Sisters schools. The event kicks off with an Art Stroll throughout Sisters on Friday, April 7, starting at 4:30 p.m.
