Photographers produce screen saver CD

Brent McGregor and Tom Merrow have produced a CD of screen savers containing 40 outstanding images of the Oregon Cascades.

Many of the photos were taken while climbing in the mountains and offer unusual perspectives of volcanic peaks and high alpine lakes. Between the two photographers, they shot all the major peaks in the Oregon Cascades, completing a four-year project to offer the Oregon Cascades Screen Saver.

McGregor is well known in the Sisters area for his woodworking skills as well as his work as an artist/photographer. He is a member of the Sisters Area Photo Club and uses a Canon digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera.

Merrow came to Oregon in 1978 for a job in high tech. He was tempted away from the world of operating systems and supercomputers by the forests, mountains and deserts of Central Oregon. Merrow focuses on landscape and nature photography and has a fondness for perspectives from mountain summits.

He is active in the Cascade Camera Club and is recognized for his image processing expertise. Merrow also uses a Canon digital SLR and prints with archival quality on fine art papers.

The current version of the CD is for PC users only and sells for $15 at local shops. A later version is planned for both Macintosh and PC platforms. The current version is available at: Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, Sun Buster Video, The Pony Express, Sisters Electronics/Radio Shack, The Harvest Basket and Antler Arts.
