Sisters will host annual Easter egg hunt

Children up to 11 years old will race across Creekside City Park gathering up colorful plastic eggs in the annual Easter Egg Hunt co-sponsored by Sisters-Camp Sherman Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Association and the Cloverdale Volunteer Firefighters Association on Easter Sunday, April 16.

The eagerly anticipated traditional event kicks off promptly at 1 p.m. — and with hundreds of fast-moving kids racing through the park it doesn’t last long.

All eggs are plastic; the hunt no longer provides hard-boiled Easter eggs.

This event will be held at the adjoining Creekside and Three Sisters Overnight parks at the east entrance of Sisters.

The Easter Bunny will be present to greet all hunters with chocolate eggs.

Children are asked to be at the parks 25 minutes before 1 p.m. so they can be divided into four age groups.

They will hunt in separate portions of the parks and will start from the paved roadways and pathways.

Each area will have different colored signs, ribbons and flags marking that age boundary.

The ages and their respective colors are:

Infants to two years: Orange.

Three to five years: Yellow.

Six to eight years: Blue.

Nine to 11 years: Green.

Within each age group area there are four special prize eggs.

These plastic prize eggs will be the same color as the age group designation. Inside the egg will be a prize ticket, which should be turned into the proper race marshal for that age group.

The four race marshals will be wearing orange vests with colored ribbons.

The children will be asked for their name, age and hometown.

When all prize eggs are found, the Easter Bunny will redeem them in the center of Three Sisters Overnight Park. (One prize egg is allowed per child).

Vehicle parking is limited so plan to provide time for walking to the parks.
