Slack defense hurts Lady Outlaws

The girls’ softball team lost 12-1 at home on Thursday, April 13. The Sweet Home Huskies sent the Lady Outlaws to the locker room in just five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Katie Hughes and Camille Pedersen were the only Outlaws players to get hits in the game.

The defense didn’t shine either. Coach Doug McDonald said, “We’re just not playing good defense.”

Two days earlier the Outlaws suffered a 10-0 shutout at Stayton. Becky Bremer hit a double off the left field wall in the first inning for Sisters’ lone hit in the game.

On the positive side McDonald mentioned that Katie Hughes played first base for the first time and made several outstanding plays.
