The Sisters boys tennis team won both of its matches this week, defeating Molalla 7-1 on Tuesday, April 18, in Molalla and two days later shutting out North Marion 8-0 at Black Butte Ranch.
On Tuesday, number-one singles player Evan Simms defeated Lucas Carneiro in split sets. Simms let Carneiro back in the game in the second set but pulled off the win in the third set. Scores were 6-1, 6-7 and 6-1.
The remaining singles all won in straight sets. Jared Whent (No. 2) defeated Daniel Ladislau 6-2, 6-3; Jordan Wellman (No. 3) defeated Ivan Martinez 6-1, 6-3 and Charlie Phillips (No. 4) defeated Daniel Heyerly 6-4, 6-1.
The No. 1 doubles team of Shayama Ellis and Ryley Newport easily defeated Daniel Ellis and Nick Jackson 6-1, 6-1. Dylan Stuwe and Eric McKinley (No. 2 doubles) got a 6-1, 6-1 win over Denin Watson and Jorge Brano.
In No. 4 doubles, Sam Fullhart and Erik Sellgren defeated Nick Clifford and Daniel Luna 7-5, 6-2.
Two days later the Outlaws shut out North Marion at Black Butte Ranch 8-0.
The Outlaws swept the court in singles play. Simms (No. 1) defeated Ben Brickley 6-2, 6-2 and Whent (No. 2) earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Rodrigo Pelagrina. Wellman (No. 3) defeated Sam Krekos 6-1, 6-1 and Newport defeated Nick Denore 6-0, 7-5.
Ellis and Newport (No.1 doubles) defeated Mark Mills and Louis Sanches 6-4, 6-2 and McKinley and Fullhart (No. 2 doubles) defeated Michael Gilette and Bobby Warner 6-0, 6-1.
Sam Fullhart had to move up from No. 3 doubles to play for Dylan Stuwe, who was out because of illness, and according to Coach Boyd Stuwe, Fullhart did a great job.
The No. 3 and No. 4 doubles teams won by default.
The Outlaws are currently 4-2 in league standings. On Thursday, April 27 the Outlaws will play at Stayton.
