News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
• Reed (nine), Hunter (eight) and Nichole (five) Ashenbrenner took time out of their day off from school on Friday, April 21 — Earth Day — to clean up litter in Squaw Creek Canyon Estates north of Sisters.
The children recently moved to the Sisters area and their mom, Cheryl, who says “this will have taught them a lifelong lesson to take pride in your community. It can be the littlest people that can make the biggest difference.”
The kids got lots of waves and horn honks and kudos from passersby, which their mom said made them feel even better about what they did.
• Conrad Weiler of the Sisters Area Photography Club writes:
“It’s time to publicly thank Kathy, Erin and Frank Deggendorfer for their hard work and forward-looking planning and vision in opening the Sisters Arts Center. It has brought together various groups of artists under one roof, sharing ideas, and helping one another, and enjoying each other’s companionship.
“For those of you who haven’t visited the center yet, stop by at 204 W. Adams and experience this wonderful Sisters addition.
