Lady Outlaws softball team loses two

The Lady Outlaws softball team lost 2-0 at Sweet Home on Tuesday, May 2.

The Huskies scored their two runs of the game in the bottom of the first inning and Sisters held them the remainder of the contest.

Cindy Harp was the only Outlaws player to get a hit in the game. Harp singled in the top of the seventh to break up the no-hitter.

Mackenzie Marchbanks, all-league pitcher for the Huskies, had 12 strikeouts.

Sam Stoneback pitched the entire game for the Outlaws. Stoneback allowed four hits and had seven strikeouts.

“Sam pitched a heck of a game and our defense was stellar,” said Coach Doug McDonald.

Team captain Cindy Harp said, “I’m really proud of our team and the effort we’ve put into improving our game. We are still a young team but we have a lot of potential.”

Two days later Sisters suffered a disappointing 10-0 loss at Molalla.

The only highlight in the game for the Outlaws was Jenna Sneva’s single.

The Lady Outlaws will face Cascade at home on Thursday, May 11 and the following Monday will wrap up their season at Stayton.
