Sonrise Christian School is entering its second decade with a new name: Sisters Christian Academy.
“As we celebrate our 10th year as a school our mission and vision are still the same; to prepare and equip our students with the academic and spiritual foundation to become strong leaders,” said Principal Peggy Miller. “Our name change reflects our continued commitment to quality education and the strength of our school in the community.”
Miller said the new name provides an accurate depiction of what the school is about.
Using the name Sisters communicates pride and commitment to the local community and helps better identify the school’s geographic location.
Using “Christian in the name “communicates that we are a school with Jesus Christ as the foundation of all that we do,” Miller stated. “We teach students to express and support a Christian worldview in step with character development so that students are learning to discern right from wrong and to respect their peers and those in authority.”
The use of the term “Academy” reflects the pursuit of the highest standards of academic excellence.
“Our commitment to small class sizes provides for outstanding teacher/student interaction and for meeting the needs of individual students,” Miller said.
