Little League Outlaws conclude winning season

The Sisters Little League majors team (12 years and under) concluded their regular season on Friday, with a 10-8 record, playing against the best little league teams in Central Oregon. The team had a winning record against the Bend South, Redmond, and La Pine Little Leagues. It drew even against Crook Cook and the Bend Jr. Elks.

The ace pitcher of the Outlaws was Jon Lahey, 12, who struck out 58 in 31 innings, while walking just 17. Jalen Miller, 12, Jake Miller, 11, and Bryce Alderman, 12, also were part of an effective pitching rotation that helped make the Outlaws little leaguers a winning team.

These pitchers could also bat: Jon hit .420; Jalen hit .440 and led the team in slugging, runs and RBIs; Jake hit .425; while Bryce hit .477.

J.C. Teehan, 12, was the team’s front-line catcher and hit a team-leading .597. Nicky Blumm, 10, played a smart shortstop, hit .513 and was the team leader in walks. Jaxon Stark, 12, played a dependable second base and hit .361.

A pair of 11-year-olds, Dillon Randle and Ryan Pollard, hit .346 and .302, respectively. Bill Hix, 12, and Trevor Condel, 12, added versatility, playing both first base and outfield. Both made memorable catches. Isaac Jackson, 11, was the most versatile Outlaw, playing infield, outfield and catching.

Highlights of the season included three one-run wins; a 14-3 pounding of the Bend South Red Sox, the runnerup in their league; and a 27-14 shellacking of the Bend North champion, the Yankees. The Outlaws proved to be road warriors, winning five of six in Bend, Redmond, and Prineville.

Players returning next year include Ryan Pollard, 11, Isaac Jackson, 11, Dillon Randle, 11, Jake Miller, 11, and Nicky Blumm, 10. The team, which now heads to Redmond for the regional all-star tournament, was coached by John Teehan, Don Miller and Michael Blumm.
