Rockhounds, jewelry lovers and curious folks will descend on Sisters for the Sisters Roundup of Gems at Sisters Elementary School June 30 to July 4.
Admission is free. Children from SOAR will attend and organizers welcome other children to visit and learn about the natural wonders of gemstones and fossils.
The show will feature several new vendors as well as many who have been coming to Sisters for years.
The show will feature many unique stones, including Oregon’s state gemstone, the sunstone.
There will be vast selections of beads in a rainbow of colors and styles, in such materials as emeralds, rubies, citrine, pearls, jades, carnelian, agates, glass and many seed beads.
Fossils from all over the world are a major attraction, including fossilized turtles from Nebraska, amber from the Baltic region, orthocerous and sharks’ teeth from Morocco. There are petrified woods from several areas of Oregon and the United States.
There will be gemstones and gemstone jewelry made from sterling silver and 14K gold, including earrings, necklaces and more.
